In a sign that the weak economy continues to batter Atlantic City, casinos in the resort municipality reported a total of $323.8 million in revenue for October, down 6.5 percent from $346.2 million in the year-ago month, according to the Casino Control Commission.

The resort city’s 11 casinos won a total of $222.4 million from slot machine betting and another $101.4 million from table games in October.

Slot revenue fell 5.7 percent from $235.9 million in October 2008 while table game revenue dropped 8.1 percent from $110.3 million, according to the commission.

During the first 10 months of 2009, casinos won a total of $3.4 billion, down 13.5 percent from $3.9 billion in 2008. Slot machine revenue also fell 13.5 percent, to $2.3 billion, from $2.7 billion in 2008’s 10-month stretch, while table game revenue suffered the same percentage plunge, dropping to $1 billion through October 2009 from $1.2 billion through October 2008, according to the figures released last week by the Casino Control Commission.
