Ten New Jersey schools earned the coveted honor of National Blue Ribbon Schools, a designation given annually by the U.S. Department of Education.
The honor is given to schools for both overall academic achievement or marked improvement to close the achievement gap among all of the students.
Only 329 schools nationally received the designation.
Of those honored in New Jersey, six were public schools and four were private.
