Thirteen Ballard Spahr lawyers were elected to firm partnership, effective July 1, including one in its Cherry Hill office.
David Haworth is a partner in the firm’s litigation department. He focuses on environmental, real estate, and products liability/toxic tort litigation and counseling.
For two decades, Haworth has litigated general commercial, construction, franchise, and consumer fraud matters. His environmental litigation experience includes prosecuting and defending remediation and natural resource damage claims under CERCLA/Superfund and other statutes and common law.
“Our new partners are consummate professionals with top-flight legal acumen and sound business knowledge, a combination of attributes that has enabled them to build indispensable partnerships that help the firm’s clients succeed,” Firmwide Chair Mark Stewart said in a prepared statement. “Their elevation to our partnership is well-deserved, and we are proud to welcome them.”
Additionally, Haworth is an active participant in the firm’s pro bono program. He works with nonprofits on contract negotiation. In one case, he successfully prosecuted a lawsuit to modify the terms of a trust on behalf of Batsto Citizens Committee Inc., which works closely with the New Jersey Park Service to promote the restoration of Batsto Village in Wharton State Forest. The court determined that the project for which the trust was originally created had become infeasible and agreed to modify the trust.
