When it comes to the top companies in the world, more than a dozen of them are right here in New Jersey, according to a new ranking from Time.
Released Sept. 12, the magazine’s inaugural World’s Best Companies list highlights 750 organizations that appear to be the ones doing right not just by employees and investors, but also the planet.
To create the compilation, Time and Statista Inc., a leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, evaluated companies based on employee satisfaction surveys, revenue growth and data related to Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) initiatives.
Tech companies performed well, with Microsoft coming in first overall, as well as for employee satisfaction, and Apple, the world’s most valuable company, ranking second overall. IT and consulting firm Accenture had the highest ESG score and was named the fifth overall best company.
In commenting on the list, Time Senior Editor Emma Barker Bonomo said, “We are excited to join TIME’s editorial expertise with Statista’s authoritative data gathering and analysis to bring our readers this informative ranking that will help them better understand the many companies that play a role in their lives today.”
