235 Grand, the 46-story rental building in downtown Jersey City, has earned LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), co-developers Ironstate Development Co. and KRE Group announced Tuesday.
The certification by USGBC comes just seven months after the 549 residences opened to the public. More than 80 percent of the homes have already been leased, with The Marketing Directors handling the exclusive leasing and marketing of the property.
“LEED certification identifies 235 Grand as a showcase example of sustainability and demonstrates your leadership in transforming the building industry,” said Mahesh Ramunujam, president and chief executive officer of the USGBC and Green Business Certification Inc.
Designed by HLW International, the 549 studio-to-two-bedroom homes feature light-filled living spaces with upscale finishes, contemporary conveniences and dramatic views. 235 Grand also offers a full suite of indoor and outdoor amenities. Located blocks from the Hudson River waterfront, 235 Grand grants residents views of Manhattan, New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty.
The building offers proximity to New York Waterway and the Grove Street PATH Station with service to Lower and Midtown Manhattan, while the nearby Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza.
