Three New Jersey firms were named to Forbes’ 2021 list of best management consulting firms in America, released March 17.
Application Consulting Group in Parsippany, BCT Partners in Newark, and Cognizant in Teaneck made the list alongside 227 other firms out of approximately 700,000 nationwide.
“One year after the COVID-19 pandemic upended the business world, the role of management consultants, responsible for guiding organizations through disruption, is more important than ever before,” wrote Forbes in the article accompanying the list. “While the industry was not immune to the economic effects of the crisis—its market size shrinking 8% to $236.2 billion in 2020, according to IBISWorld—it’s on the rebound, expected to grow 2.3% to $241.6 billion this year.”
BCT co-founder, Chairman and CEO Randal Pinkett called it a “true honor” to be recognized for the second year in a row.
“Our main goal when we started BCT Partners 21 years ago remains to this day – to leverage technology, data and innovation in creating a more diverse, inclusive and equitable society,” Pinkett said. “As one of the few African American-owned consulting firms named to this list, we have a depth of expertise and a unique perspective among our peer consulting firms that helps our clients make diversity, equity and inclusion a priority within their organization.”
Forbes worked with Statista on the list, and the two chose firms for the list based on the results of two independent surveys. One survey sought input from management consulting executives who made peer recommendations, and the one sought input from senior executives who evaluated management consultancies they had worked with in the last four years.
