EisnerAmper has expanded its tax, accounting and advisory services to domestic and international hemp and cannabis companies.
The practice serves both new and established companies.
“This is the fastest growing and most quickly evolving industry I’ve seen in my 35 years in business advisory services,” said Rick Frimmer, EisnerAmper managing director and cannabis and hemp practice leader, in a statement.
The expansion is expected to continue as related legislation is signed. The U.S. Farm Bill and the Canadian Cannabis Act were both signed late last year. An adult use cannabis bill in New Jersey is projected to be voted on as early as the end of this month.
“What sets us apart is our practical experience having performed many engagements in this one-of-a-kind sector on behalf of both public and private companies,” Frimmer said in a statement. “We know the landscape. We know the participants. And our lengthy track record of accounting proficiency and a client-centric approach is widely known.”
Frimmer and his colleagues can provide guidance on key issues, including IRC 2380E, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network guidelines, and recent tax court cases.
