Health care and social assistance sectors added 49,000 jobs, education and health services added 48,000 jobs, the leisure and hospitality sector added 37,000 jobs and the manufacturing sector added 23,000 jobs.
Medium-sized companies accounted for 119,000, small companies for 52,000 and large companies for 48,000 jobs.
The matched sample used to develop the ADP National Employment Report was derived from ADP payroll data, which represents 411,000 American clients employing nearly 24 million workers.
ADP also revised the June total of new jobs from 177,000 to 181,000.
