Ten veteran teams have a little bit more help these days, thanks to Ocean Township-based Advisors Mortgage Group and the NEADS World Class Service Dogs organization.
In December 2020, the financial group and its P.E.T. Program (Pups Empowering Troops) donated to the service dog program, and since that time, the NEADS group has trained and matched 10 service dogs for veteran teams, according to a Feb. 15 announcement.
The donation amount was not available as of publication time.
The NEADS nonprofit — which helps veterans who may suffer from PTSD or other combat-related injuries by matching them with service dogs to help with emotional and physical support — was established in 1976 and has trained more than 1,800 service dog teams since that time.
NEADS is accredited by Assistance Dogs International, the internationally recognized governing body that establishes industry standards and practices.
“We are honored to be able to help these veterans who have so unselfishly fought for our nation,” Sean Clark, vice president of Advisors, said in a prepared statement. “They deserve to live a quality life and these dogs offer them so much physical and emotional support. NEADS does an amazing job and Advisors is proud to be a part of their ongoing efforts.”
Advisors Mortgage Group was founded in October 1999 in Shrewsbury and has grown to serve the greater New Jersey area and a vast portion of the United States.
