Discount supermarket chain Aldi plans to open its 63rd store in New Jersey.
The newest location, at 780 Route 70 in Brick Township, will officially open at 8 a.m. Dec. 8, according to the Batavia, Ill.-based, no-frills grocer.
In advance of the grand opening, Aldi plans to offer shoppers a special sneak peek Dec. 7, the chain said.
Founded 60 years ago in Germany by the Albrecht family, Aldi arrived in the U.S. in 1976 and became known for its low prices and private label brands.
With 2,258 locations in 38 states, Aldi is halfway through a $3.4 billion, five-year initiative to expand its store base by almost 50% and modernize existing stores.
Over the past few years, Aldi has steadily expanded across New Jersey, by building new locations and revamping old ones.
Aldi’s newest store in Brick will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
