The MC Hotel in Montclair said Tuesday it reopened doors to its popular ALTO rooftop, the city’s only rooftop bar.
Located on the ninth floor of the hotel through the building’s Bloomfield Avenue entrance, the space is now open for drinks Wednesdays through Sundays, with reservations encouraged through Opentable.com.
For eats on the rooftop, the hotel just rolled out a limited bites menu with offerings ranging from tuna, BBQ pork or burger sliders, to lighter dishes. While Allegory, The MC Hotel’s full-service lobby restaurant, remains closed, the restaurant opened its patio space with a limited bar food menu that includes heartier sandwiches, salads and lobster rolls—all while enjoying sweeping views of the New York City skyline.
The MC Hotel appointed a new executive chef, Amber Lancaster, who will oversee culinary operatings for the hotel. Lancaster brings more than 10 years of experience in the food and beverage industry working at renowned establishments across Paris and Chicago.
“We have reopened ALTO under stringent new cleaning and social distancing protocols and are thrilled to welcome guests through our doors again,” said The MC Hotel General Manager Oscar Fontana.
The MC Hotel is part of the Aparium Hotel Group portfolio and one of the first to resume operations in some capacity since closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The reopening of the property’s food and beverage venues serves as The MC Hotel’s first phase of reopening, with rooms ramping up to reopen in the fall.
