Voorhees-based water and wastewater utility company American Water has named a new president of its market-based business, known as American Water Enterprises, it announced Monday.Deborah A. Degillio, currently American Water’s vice president and treasurer, will take over for Sharon Cameron, who is retiring effective May 30, the company said in a news release. In her new role, she will lead the company’s contract services group, military services group and homeowner services unit.
“This is bittersweet news for American Water, as Sharon leaves a wonderful history and legacy to both American Water Enterprises and American Water,” Susan Story, American Water’s CEO and president, said in a prepared statement.
Degillio, who joined American Water in 2007, has more than 20 years of experience in the energy and utility sectors.
“Deb’s leadership and expertise will add great value to our executive team, as well as to our American Water Enterprises team,” Story said. “She has a proven track record in financial planning, budgeting and achieving business goals, and has been a key leader in our company’s overall performance and financial success.”
Jennifer Gambol, vice president of finance at American Water Enterprises, will take over for Degillio as American Water’s vice president and treasurer. Degillio had led all financing functions for the company, as well as enterprise risk management, insurance, cash management and other functions.
Gambol joined American Water in 2015.
