Minor League Baseball’s opening night is Thursday, and this spring rookies aren’t the only new guys showing up at the field.
Bridgewater-based Applegate announced a partnership with the league this week making the brand the first-ever Official Natural and Organic Meat of Minor League Baseball.
Under the agreement, Applegate products – including The Cleaner Wiener-Applegate Naturals Beef Hot Dog and The Great Organic Blend Burger Beef Burger, one of the company’s newest products – will be available at concession stands in select ballparks this season. The company will also host a series of theme nights featuring giveaways and activities.
Minor League Baseball Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer David Wright said in a statement that Applegate’s range of products made them an ideal partner to provide cleaner eating options at ballparks.
“We are so excited to finally see the Applegate and Minor League Baseball partnership come to life!” Nicole Glenn, vice president of marketing at Applegate, said in a prepared statement. Glenn expressed confidence the company’s hot dogs and burgers would be big hits with fans, saying that the company is “always looking for ways to offer cleaner options to new audiences.”
In New Jersey, you can enjoy Applegate products at Lakewood BlueClaws games at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood.
In 2015, Applegate became a stand-alone subsidiary of Hormel.
