After serving as a summer intern in 2018, Donald Pierce joined the Litigation practice of Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper PC this fall, the firm recently announced.
Based in the firm’s Westfield office, Pierce received his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School and holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Rutgers University.
He is a veteran, having served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division as an Infantry Officer, 1st Lt. from 2013 – 2016. During that time, he researched military law and investigated under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, in addition to authoring memorandums and conducting interviews, Lindabury said. He was deployed to Iraq for nine months, leading security operations and also instructing Iraqi-Terrorism Service officers.
Pierce was a member of the New Jersey Army National Guard from 2010 – 2012, according to the firm, during which time he took part in relief efforts for both Hurricanes Irene and Sandy.
“During his internship, Donald demonstrated a keen legal mind and the tenacity it takes to fight for our clients,” said Lindabury President David Pierce in a prepared statement. “His outstanding military service is further evidence of his admirable courage and conviction.
“We are excited to further strengthen our Litigation practice with the addition of this notable new associate,” he added.
