Aidoc is providing AI imaging for one of the Garden State’s most prominent health care networks.
The New York-based company announced an agreement with Atlantic Health System on May 3 and has already rolled out its AI solution to each of the provider’s hospitals, including Morristown and Overlook medical centers.
“Radiologists must consider a multitude of data and other factors when interpreting a study and making a diagnosis, ranging from normal anatomy to different disease processes,” said Dr. Devon Klein, chairman of radiology and radiation oncology at Atlantic Health System’s Overlook Medical Center. “Having a tool to assist in these considerations is an enormous advantage in these scenarios.
“When patients are depending on us to quickly identify areas of concern that may need more immediate treatment, every moment becomes even more precious,” he added.
According to Aidoc, Atlantic Health physicians use the tech to triage patient CT scans and receive alerts about critical situations — which can include potential brain bleeds, cervical spine or rib fractures, blood clots in the lungs and bowel injury — allowing for expedited care. The product allows them to maintain high-quality outcomes while keeping pace with increasing demands.
“We are honored to get the vote of confidence from Atlantic Health System,” Aidoc co-founder Elad Walach said in a statement. “With a health network the size of Atlantic Health’s, you’re looking for a platform that can support the entire network’s clinical AI needs, so that patients across the state can receive the same exceptional care. It’s really great to see that New Jersey is making AI health care the standard and improving clinical outcomes for their patients.”
Aidoc did not return a request for additional information before press time.
