Atlantic Health System said May 19 that Dr. Douglas Arbittier has joined as vice president, Service Lines where he will oversee the operations for care provided through the system’s key services including cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and women’s health.
In his new role, Arbittier will work to ensure Atlantic Health service lines continue to grow to meet the ever-changing needs of all health care consumers, including inpatient, outpatient and preventive services. Along with making sure patients are always able to access the care they need when they need it, Arbittier will also have a role in driving the continued clinical excellence that the system said helps define the care it delivers.

Most recently, Arbittier served 17 years with Wellspan Health, where he worked in both clinical and administrative roles, culminating in leadership of the Oncology and Surgical service lines. Prior to that he was chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology at York Hospital and president of the medical staff at WellSpan Surgery and Rehabilitation Hospital located in York, Pa. Before joining Wellspan, Arbittier was the chief of medical staff and chairman, Department of Anesthesiology at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, N.Y.
