Benjamin Ross Group sells Monmouth County manufacturing company

Benjamin Ross Group said Thursday it recently sold Universal Filters in Monmouth County.

Established in 1982, Universal Filters of Asbury Park specializes in a complete line of standard and custom replacement liquid filter bags used to remove contaminants, often in filtration systems, industrial water systems, and chemical processing equipment for all sorts of industries.

Benjamin Ross Group saw the company’s unique ability to design and manufacture an extensive selection of top quality liquid filtration products in various sizes, materials and styles, all the while maintaining control over the entire manufacturing process and used it as a selling feature.

The brokerage also knew the importance of selling the company to a buyer that would retain the current employees and put the company in good hands.

Jerry Kolton, the seller of Universal Filters, said Benjamin Ross Group did exactly what they promised. They introduced him to a continuing stream of qualified buyers, understood his concerns were not just financial and was as honest with a prospective buyer as with him.
