Bergman Real Estate Group named Jeffrey Buchman its chief operating officer, the Woodbridge-based company announced Sept. 7, highlighting his “proven track record of financial oversight, investment management and local market knowledge.”
Buchman brings more than 25 years’ experience to the position, most recently serving as COO at Ridgewood-based STRO Cos.
“Jeffrey is a well-respected industry professional with a broad background in acquiring and managing commercial properties in New Jersey and in repositioning assets to achieve optimal performance,” Bergman Real Estate President Michael Bergman said in a statement. “He will be a significant addition to our team as we continue to grow our portfolio and maximize value for our investors.
In his new position, Buchman will handle asset management for the real estate investment and management company’s North and Central Jersey office properties in addition to helping source new acquisitions for value-add investment opportunities across office, industrial and multifamily assets.
In the hiring announcement, Bergman Real Estate praised Buchman’s track record of success in that latter focus. His background also includes serving as executive vice president of asset management for Ivy Realty.

Currently, Bergman owns and manages 22 office buildings for a total 2.2 million square feet. In the first half of the year, the company said it completed 77 leases.
