Better-for-you snack brand NUTSÓLA adds chocolate to lineup (updated)

NUTSÓLA, a better-for-you snack brand created by a father-son team from Livingston, is adding a new product to its lineup of healthy and organic options.

DÄT Organic Dark Chocolate, a bar with zero added sugars and naturally sweetened with dates, recently hit the shelves of stores nationwide. The newest offering – which is vegan and keto friendly – comes in three flavors: almond crunch, cashew butter and peanut butter.

Founded in 2019 by Adam and Michael Kukoff, the brand makes convenient, clean-ingredient snacks, including superfood mixes and bites, such as vanilla almond, pumpkin spice, banana nut, peanut butter, cherry, peanut butter & jelly and cacao almond, as well as date glazed nuts, in flavors including coconut cream cashews, vanilla caramel cashews and sweet n’ salty peanuts.

After realizing that a lot of their favorite foods were filled with refined sugars and sweeteners, Michael Kukoff whipped up an alternative: energy balls made from chopped up almonds, dried fruit and some spices.

Besides offering a good balance of healthy fats, carbohydrates and protein, the snack was a hit with their friends and family, and, with some encouragement, the Kukoffs created a Kickstarter campaign in January 2019 to launch a startup and brought their first products to market within three months.

Adam said he and his father “are so excited about the launch our DÄT Organic Dark Chocolate.”

“It is insanely delicious without the junk. Like our other products, it’s only sweetened with dates. It’s the perfect snacking option for a truly guilt free experience,” he said.

NUTSÓLA products are available online, as well as in over 400 small retailers, including the following stores in New Jersey: Organica Natural Foods, The Mindful Café, Baya Bar, SuperJuice Nation, Planted Eats, Café Neo, Fairchild’s Market, Green Life Market, HALO Roasters and Serra Doce.
