On the heels of the release of ADP’s July National Employment Report, which found 156,000 nonfarm jobs were added in the private sector, fintech company SmartAsset is out with its third annual ranking of the top job gaining traction in each state.
New Jersey is looking toward a new frontier, as aerospace engineer boasts the biggest gains in the Garden State, jumping from 380 to 1,840 employed in the profession—a 384-percent increase from 2014 – 2018.
The fastest-growing occupation across the nation? After two years in the top spot, photovoltaic installer was bumped by animal breeder, which showed a 95 percent increase, SmartAsset said. The largest increase in total workers went to the No. 2 fastest-growing job nationwide: personal care aide.
The fastest-growing occupation in the highest number of states was production positions, claiming highest marks in seven states: Arizona, Alabama, Indiana, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
Rankings for the study are based upon a five-year percent change in employees from every occupation listed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics from 2014 to 2018.
