Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa announced March 14 a $55 million redesign and rebranding of The Water Club.

The news comes as the resort prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

As part of the transformation, The Water Club will be renamed the MGM Tower and feature more than 700 completely reimagined guestrooms, along with a new collection of luxury Vista Suites that will be located at the tower’s corners with sweeping views of Atlantic City.

MGM says that the remodel spans all aspects of the experience, from arrival to new accommodations that are inspired by AC’s Marina District. The guest rooms will feature a bright and warm décor with “a nautical palette of neutral and blue tones accented with deep wood finishes embodying a sophisticated coastal feel.” The new suites will feature an expansive living space, private bedroom, two bathrooms and spacious dining area.

As Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the resort is embarking on a $55 million redesign and rebranding of The Water Club, renamed the MGM Tower.

The MGM Tower was crafted and designed in partnership with MGM Resorts International Design Group and RVD Associates, an award-winning international interior design firm. Throughout the tower, there is emphasis on clean white lines complemented by bold and vibrant accents that the company believes will deliver a fresh and contemporary feel.

“Introducing the MGM Tower connects Borgata with the unparalleled entertainment and resort experiences MGM Resorts is recognized for worldwide,” said Corey Sanders, chief operating officer for MGM Resorts International, in a press release. “We are incredibly proud of Borgata and its industry-leading team of employees, and we believe this significant reinvestment will drive visitation to Atlantic City well into the future.”

The newly remodeled rooms will be available beginning next month with the project slated for completion by Memorial Day Weekend.

Borgata is also introducing a 9,000-square-foot event space on the 32nd floor in the location of the former Immersion Spa, which it says will feature unrivaled views and tailor-made event capabilities.

“As we approach the resort’s 20th anniversary, we are more committed than ever to remaining a leader in hospitality and entertainment by continuing to evolve the Borgata experience,” said Travis Lunn, the resort’s president and COO. “We look forward to sharing our new vision with Borgata’s incredible guests in the coming months.”
