Boutique New York law firm White Harris PLLC, which focuses exclusively on representing employers, said Monday it merged with Roseland-based A.Y. Strauss. Joseph Harris is now chair of the firm‘s newly launched labor and employment practice group.
Harris, who remains based in New York City, has represented employers in state and federal court and before government agencies, such as the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the New York State Department of Labor, and the New York State Division of Human Rights.
His practice focuses primarily on the defense of employers against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and the violation of wage-and-hour laws. Additionally, he represents employers in disputes involving the breach of post-employment restrictive covenants, such as non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements.
Prior to founding White Harris PLLC, Harris practiced employment law at Moses & Singer LLP in New York.
