The company wins a contract from Airbus to manufacture at least 192 ship sets of cargo winches and 134 ship sets of cranes for the A400M military transport aircraft.Breeze-Eastern, a division of TransTechnology (Nasdaq OTC: TTLG) in Union, said today that it has won a contract from EuropeÂs Airbus to develop and manufacture a minimum of 192 ship sets of cargo winches and 134 ship sets of cranes for the A400M military transport aircraft.
Airbus Military received orders for 192 A400M aircraft from nine countries, including France and Germany, with deliveries scheduled to begin in 2009. Breeze-EasternÂs sales of cargo winches and cranes for those aircraft are expected to total more than $40 million through 2020.
Breeze-Eastern makes lifting devices for military and civilian aircraft, such as rescue hoists, cargo hooks and weapons-lifting systems. It reported revenue of $62.9 million for last year, and has 180 employees at its Union facility.
TransTechnology shares were down $0.35 to $9.10 in mid-morning trading.
