Popular Mexican-fusion chain Bubbakoo’s Burritos is celebrating its 15th anniversary by giving away free burritos for a year.
As part of the launch of a refreshed app and loyalty program, the Point Pleasant-born fast casual restaurant plans to host a special scavenger hunt that’ll award a grand prize of 365 days’ worth of its signature fare to 15 people.
Scheduled to begin June 12, the “Surfin’ for Burritos” promotion invites fans to embark upon a quest via the Bubbakoo’s Burritos app to uncover specific facts and share their discoveries on the brand’s social media channels.
Alongside announcing the contest, the company highlighted several other brand-enhancing efforts, such a modernized app and loyalty program developed by leading guest engagement technology provider Thanx.
Now available for download in the Apple Store or through Google Play, the modernized app allows customers the ability to earn rewards that are redeemable for discounts and freebies. Additionally, they will receive access to exclusive offers and promotions, three new levels of loyalty membership and a new hidden backstage menu.

In addition to new tech stack introductions, Bubbakoo’s Burritos is rolling out three new flavors that can be added to any entrée dish: serrano ghost pepper carnitas, ghost pepper shredded chicken and barbacoa chipotle crema.
Founded by food industry veterans Paul Altero and Bil Hart, the chain is known for its burritos, tacos, quesadillas and bowls that are fresh, made-to-order and affordable in a lively skater-surfer atmosphere. The brand has since expanded to 100 locations across 16 states to become one of the fastest-growing franchises in the country.
