Care Plus NJ Inc., an integrated primary and behavioral health services center for adults and children, announced Wednesday it has established an outpatient detox program as a part of the complete continuum of outpatient addiction services at its headquarters in Paramus.
In a press release Care Plus said that the service line would be led by Ellery Tarife, an advanced practice nurse.
The Outpatient Detox Program at CarePlus connects enrolled individuals – who have come in on their own or who have been referred to Care Plus for detox – with medication assisted treatment, and regular medication monitoring by a multi-disciplinary team led by Tarife to manage opioid withdrawal symptoms. Tarife and the detox team will perform a quick physical evaluation on-site and get the individual on Suboxone.
The Suboxone induction starts on-site at CarePlus and the individual will usually stay at CarePlus for three to four hours while the detox team can titrate the Suboxone up to a level where the individual is comfortable.
“What we are doing at CarePlus is removing barriers to treatment. We’re making treatment more accessible and providing more holistic and patient-centered care with the outpatient model,” said Tarife in a statement.
“The current standard of care for detox is inpatient treatment, usually in a hospital or in a high-end inpatient detox center for around five to nine days,” said Tarife.
