CBRE expands Tri-State investment sales team

Jessica Perry//November 23, 2021

The Tri-State Institutional Properties Group is expanding at CBRE with two new hires from Marcus & Millichap.

Fahri Ozturk and Richard Gatto join the team, headed by Vice Chairman Jeffrey Dunne, specializing in the sale and recapitalization of office, apartments, retail, industrial and development sites as senior vice presidents and partners.

Dunne described the new additions as “stars on the rise” in the industry.

“Even during the many challenges the industry faced during the pandemic, Fahri and Rich were prolific in the type of real estate deals they were able to complete in the service of their clients,” he said.

Executive Vice President Jeremy Neuer added that Ozturk and Gatto would expand the team’s multifamily market share, “where many investors are highly focused.”

With a combined more than 35 years of experience, both Oztruk and Gatto have developed relationships with many of the most active multifamily owners and operators in the Tri-State region, including high net-worth private clients, institutional investors and family offices.

Ozturk comes to CBRE from Marcus & Millichap where, according to his LinkedIn profile, he was first vice president of investment sales – multifamily & office.

Prior to Marcus & Millichap he was a director in Cushman & Wakefield’s Capital markets Group, where he concentrated on investment sales in Hudson County. Before focusing on brokerage, he had various positions at firms including Thor Equities, Macklowe Properties and Broadway Partners.

Gatto is focused on investment sales in North Jersey, specializing in multifamily, mixed-use, development and office properties. He is an active member of the National Multi Housing Group, New Jersey Apartment Association, New Jersey Builders Association and the National Association of Homebuilders.

“We’re extremely excited for the opportunity to join CBRE and partner with two investment sales legends,” Gatto said. “Jeff and Jeremy have built one of the top producing investment sales teams worldwide, having completed in excess of $35 billion in sale transactions. This partnership allows us to enhance the value and scope of services we can provide our clients as they continue to grow in the marketplace.”
