Centenary University President David Haney has announced his resignation from the Hackettstown-based institution.Centenary University President David Haney has announced his resignation from the Hackettstown-based institution.
Haney will remain in the post until June 30. According to the university, the board of trustees has assembled a task force to begin the transition process.
Haney arrived at Centenary in July 2016.
As the institution’s 13th president he launched a five-year plan to right-size the university to more closely meet the needs of current enrollment, including restructuring staffing and completing a strategic planning process based on human-centered design.
He has also helped raise $1.85 million for a new baseball field, enhanced community engagement initiatives and increased collaboration with area community colleges.
Haney said he plans to pursue other opportunities in higher education.
