NFI, a supply chain solutions company based in Cherry Hill, is opening a distribution and logistics center in North Carolina, according to a recent announcement.NFI has chosen a 1.6 million-square-foot former Kmart distribution center in Greensboro, Greensboro Partnership Economic Development said in a news release. The company has been looking for a facility in the region for about a year, it said.
“We started this project knowing we needed a location in the Triad (area),” Michael Landsburg, NFI’s vice president of real estate, said in a prepared statement. “This location in Greensboro also gives us access to major highways, which is essential for our business. We look forward to a longstanding relationship with the community and state.”
NFI, a privately held company with more than $1.2 billion in annual revenue, operates 27.5 million square feet of warehouse and distribution space, as well as its own fleet of tractors and trailers.
