Robert Helm, senior vice president of finance and inventory management at The Children’s Place, has been appointed chief financial officer effective April 1.
CFO Michael Scarpa will retire effective March 31.
“Rob is involved in all aspects of the business and has been instrumental in helping to navigate the company throughout the COVID-19 crisis,” CEO and President Jane Elfers said in a prepared statement. I have confidence in Rob’s ability to seamlessly transition to the CFO role and to continue to partner with me to create value for our shareholders.”
Helm has taken on roles of increasing responsibility since joining The Children’s Place in 2016, including his appointment as principal accounting officer in Nov. 2018 and eventually his current role, which he was appointed to in Nov. 2019, in which he oversees financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, accounting operations, tax, treasury, investor relations and inventory management.
As a CFO, Helm will take on added responsibility for internal audit and will report to Elfers.
