Christie’s town hall tally hits 100

Jessica Perry//January 16, 2013

Wednesday marks a milestone of sorts in Gov. Chris Christie’s administration. Today the governor holds the 100th town hall of his tenure when he greets constituents at 3 p.m. in Manahawkin, Stafford Township.
The events, which have become a hallmark of Christie’s governorship, allow the public – though not the press – the opportunity to ask questions of the governor. They also give the governor a chance to promote his policies and show off one of his key strengths as a politician – his frank speaking style.
As with most major Christie events, his communications staff created a YouTube video to mark the 100th town hall. In fact, the Christie administration’s penchant for producing videos led Charles Stile, The Record’s political columnist, this week to dub Christie the state’s “first music video governor.”
The latest video is a time-lapse production showing Christie’s advance staff setting up risers, flags and chairs at a previous town hall event. It ends like a movie trailer, with Christie walking on stage to loud applause and the words “100th Town Hall, Coming to You, 1.16.13” flashing on the screen.
The video went up Monday and has about 1,100 views as of this morning. Watch it below:
