Whitehouse Station-based Chubb, the world’s largest publicly traded property and casualty insurance company, announced leadership changes for its business operations in Canada.
Current Executive Vice President, Personal Risk Services Paul Johnstone was elevated to the role of Chubb Canada chief operating officer, the company announced Dec. 29, while current Senior Vice President and Assistant Region Manager for Chubb Canada Personal Risk Services Melanie Wilcox will succeed Johnstone as head of personal risk services, Canada.
The appointments are effective Jan. 1, 2022.
Reporting to Chubb Canada President John Alfieri, Johnstone will have executive operating responsibility for the company’s retail property and casualty insurance business in Canada, including the high-net-worth personal lines segment. He will oversee business accident and health offerings for Canadian-based clients and help to support Chubb Canada’s strategic priorities, including information technology and strengthening relationships with regional distribution partners.
Wilcox will also report to Alfieri, with matrixed reporting to Ana Robic, vice president, Chubb Group and division president, North America Personal Risk Services.
“Paul and Melanie both bring extensive experience to their new roles,” Alfieri said in a statement. “Paul’s recent leadership of our personal lines business, coupled with his previous management of Corporate Marketing and Distribution, Underwriting, Accident & Health, and Commercial Insurance will help further support Chubb Canada’s overall strategic growth initiatives. Melanie also has strong leadership experience and brings extraordinary technical skills and innovative thinking that will help ensure we continue to meet the needs of our distribution partners and our mutual clients.”
Earlier in December, Chubb announced executive appointments for Seth Gillston and Bill Hazelton.
