Building on a 14-year relationship, Teaneck-based Cognizant announced April 25 that it signed a new five-year agreement with Nike to support its technology operations globally.
As part of the new deal, Cognizant will consolidate several of Nike’s existing IT support functions and serve the athletic accessories company across more than 230 locations in over 40 countries.
Cognizant will assist Nike’s customers, partners and 70,000 employees through multilingual IT customer service; deskside and dispatch depot; and application and infrastructure support, the company said.
“By bridging our retail industry and technology expertise together with our 14-year knowledge of Nike’s business, we are able to equip them with the advanced IT capabilities required to support their global growth and ensure seamless technology experiences for all,” Sushant Warikoo, head of Cognizant’s Retail Industry Business Unit, said in a statement, adding that it’s accomplishing this by leveraging hyper-automation, artificial intelligence and process re-engineering.
Cognizant will offer employees onsite and remote support to troubleshoot hardware issues and will also assist with Nike applications such as mobile apps, computer software and Nike.com.
Looking ahead, Cognizant will help Nike build new self-service capabilities, improve service productivity, and provide “significant” cost savings.
Cognizant is no stranger to the sports world, having served as title sponsor of the Founders Cup – which takes place this year May 10-14 at the Upper Montclair Country Club in Clifton – since 2021.
