Coldwell Banker Realty appoints new president and CEO

Madison-based Anywhere Real Estate Inc. – formerly Realogy Holdings Corp. – on March 20 announced a new president and chief executive officer for Coldwell Banker Realty, the company-owned brokerage of Coldwell Banker. 

In the new role, Kamini Lane, who most recently served as brokerage president for Sotheby’s International Realty, will report to Sue Yannaccone, president and CEO of Anywhere Brands and Anywhere Advisors. 

The news follows several structural and leadership changes announced by Anywhere in December 2022, when it moved Coldwell Banker under the Anywhere Brands banner, among other changes. At that time, the company announced that Yannaccone – who oversaw brands including Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Century 21, Corcoran, ERA and Sotheby’s International Realty – would now also oversee Coldwell Banker.  

Also at that time, Anywhere announced that M. Ryan Gorman, then Coldwell Banker CEO, would step down from the position and move into a strategic advisor role. 

In her new role, Lane will serve more than 55,000 affiliated real estate agents. 

“Kamini has established herself as one of the foremost leaders in residential real estate brokerage today, and we’re excited to have her at the helm of Coldwell Banker Realty,” Yannaccone said in a statement. “With her dynamic leadership, combined with her strengths in brokerage strategy, agent relationships, operational excellence as well as luxury and brand management, Kamini is well-positioned to lead the Coldwell Banker Realty business and brand into the future.” 

Before her time with Sotheby’s, Lane held leadership positions with firms such as West for Compass, Interbrand, eBay.com and Tradesy.

Lane, who called the new appointment “an honor,” earned her MBA from Harvard Business School and a bachelor’s in business administration from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. 

Additionally, Anywhere announced that Liz Gehringer, president of Coldwell Banker Affiliates – the company’s global franchise business – will expand her leadership across more brands to include Coldwell Banker Affiliates, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate, Century 21 and ERA Real Estate. Gehringer, who joined the company in 2006, will continue to report to Yannaccone.
