Matthew Clements has been appointed senior vice president, head of retail sales and product for Columbia Bank.
Clements will develop sales practices for the Fair Lawn-based bank’s retail branch network, design programs to increase productivity and facilitate new product development, the bank said Friday.
Clements most recently served as head of consumer checking products at Citibank, which saw him responsible for growing the institution’s U.S. checking deposit portfolio.
In a statement, Columbia President and CEO Thomas Kemly said Clements brings more than 18 years’ experience with him to Columbia Bank.
“His expertise in new product development and retail sales delivery will assist us as we become the preeminent bank of New Jersey,” Kemly added.
According to the bank, Columbia boasts an asset base of more than $6.6 billion with 49 full-service locations throughout the state.
