Columbia Care Inc. launched legacy California product brand Classix in the New Jersey market, alongside those in Arizona, Delaware, Illinois and Massachusetts.
The Oct. 13 introduction is the industry’s widest flower launch in a single day, according to Columbia Care, a multi-state operator with Garden State locations in Vineland and Deptford.
Classix is the newest member of Columbia Care’s national brand portfolio alongside labels including Seed & Strain, Triple Seven, gLeaf, Press, Amber and Platinum Label CBD. The New York-based MSO operates 130 facilities – 99 dispensaries and 31 cultivation and manufacturing facilities – including those under development.
Classix was developed by Los Angeles-based Project Cannabis, which Columbia Care acquired in late 2020 for approximately $57 million in Columbia Care stock and approximately $12 million in cash.
“The Classix brand was built to be fun, light-hearted and pay homage to the musical moments that build a community around cannabis, and ultimately brought to life with unique and eye-catching packaging,” said Jesse Channon, chief growth officer of Columbia Care. “It’s a fantastic addition to our house of brands as we continue to expand our product brands across our national platform through our vertically integrated footprint that spans 18 markets.”
