Nearly 50,000 Wi-Fi hotspots are available across New Jersey after the most recent addition of 1,000 new hotspots in popular destination points around the state.Comcast announced the installation of 1,000 Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots, a service that provides wireless internet to paying customers of Comcast’s service, will fill in various regions in the state. The company already had a wireless coverage across New Jersey, but said the additional hotspots would provide more service to areas such as Tom’s River and Burlington County.
“Having the largest Wi-Fi network in the region and the nation is a major benefit to our customers, and we are pleased to continue to make these investments,” said Jima Samaha, senior vice president, in a prepared statement. Samaha oversees the region that includes New Jersey, greater Philadelphia and northern Delaware.
The expansion of Wi-Fi networks comes a few weeks after Comcast announced a $13 million investment into expanding its fiber network in the state of New Jersey.
