Commvault is holding its GO 2019 Conference this week in Denver, Colo., where it announced a pair of new appointments and the launch of a new brand.
Mercer Rowe will serve as vice president, global channels and alliances, while Edison Peres was named a strategic go-to-market adviser, the Tinton Falls-based company announced Monday.
According to Commvault, for the majority of the past ten years, Rowe has lead channel and alliance organizations, transforming companies like VMware and IBM and their vendors into cloud-first businesses. He was chief executive officer of VMware and for SoftBank’s Japan-based joint venture.
While leading business development and alliances at IBM Watson, Commvault said Rowe expanded service into new markets including China and the Middle East.
“Commvault has a world-class partner organization and it’s my job to take that strong foundation and shape it into an industry leader that helps partners transform their businesses and have the right conversations with customers,” Rowe said in a prepared statement. “Commvault is a unique arbiter of data, not just a protector of it, and with our partners we can help customers through the next stage of their transition to a multi-cloud future.”
Peres spent 14 years leading channel organization for Cisco, where he served as senior vice president of worldwide channels. At Commvault, he will work to grow the company’s go-to-market success.
“Our goals as a company are to simplify, innovate and execute. Achieving those goals starts with talent,” said Chief Revenue Officer Riccardo Di Blasio said in a prepared statement. “We continue to strengthen our team with the industry expertise and strategic minds that will drive a consistent level of operational excellence, continued expansion into new routes to market and the elevation of Commvault’s relationships with new and existing partners.”
Also coming out of Day 1 at GO 2019 was Commvault’s announcement of the launch Metallic, a new SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) venture, operating as a division of the company, affording protection to on-premises, cloud and hybrid data for companies to protect their information.
