Construction services company consolidates N.J. offices into Woodbridge location

In an effort to centralize its location in the state, Structure Tone is combining its South Jersey and North Jersey offices into one Woodbridge location.The company’s Lyndhurst office opened in 1987, and a Hamilton location was opened in 2001 to serve the southern part of the state and Philadelphia, said John White, senior vice president at Structure Tone.

“We didn’t have a Philadelphia office back then, but now we do,” he said.

The employees from both offices move to Woodbridge today. White said that having all the employees together will be more convenient and efficient.

“Being under one roof, there is one message,” he said. “All of our managers will be together and marching to the same tune.”

Nearly 140 employees from the two offices will work out of a 20,000-square-foot space at 10 Woodbridge Center Drive, in Woodbridge.

“We’re very excited about this,” White said. “Woodbridge is centrally located, with highways going north, south, east and west. The building is a newer environment with technological improvements and a lot more conference space.”

Structure Tone, a construction services provider that deals with commercial office interiors, hospitality and higher education facilities, was founded in New York City in 1971. The company now has offices in seven states as well as London, Dublin, Hong Kong and China. The projects worked on by the two New Jersey offices had combined construction value of $453 million last year.

Structure Tone has worked on many high-profile projects in New Jersey, including the Courtyard Marriott in Newark, a LEED-certified hotel adjacent to the Prudential Center, and a new 500-bed dormitory on Rutgers’ Livingston campus.
