Around the State – South JerseyCAMDEN Earnings at food manufacturer Campbell Soup were down in its latest quarterly report. For its fiscal first quarter ended that Oct. 29, the company reported net income of $291 million on revenue of $2.15 billion. That compares with net income of $302 million on revenue of $2 billion for the year-ago period. The profit decline included $128 million in taxes for the period compared with $69 million in taxes for the year-ago period that included a one-time tax benefit.
The company held to its previous earnings guidance of $1.82 to $1.85 per share for the year ending July 2007.
