Corzine praises green construction for Princeton Hospital
Cogen facility incorporated into new hospital’s design.Gov. Jon S. Corzine on Monday took in a site tour for the forthcoming Princeton Hospital, praising its use of green power in its design.
ÂI am pleased to see Princeton Hospital incorporating the use of green technologies in this new building, not only for the efficiencies it will realize, but for the creation of new green jobs that will be required in areas such as cogeneration and solar energy, Corzine said in a statement.
Scheduled to open in 2011, the hospital will include a cogeneration facility on site developed with support from NRG Energy and PSE&G.
The 238-patient room hospital will be known as University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, and will sit on 50 acres within a larger 160-acre campus between Scudders Mill Road and the Millstone River.
