Christopher Costa was named co-chair of the real estate department at Stevens & Lee in Princeton, joining co-chair Steven Buck to lead the group.
Costa represents clients in all aspects of commercial real estate law, including land use, transactions, commercial banking, condominium conversions, leasing and landlord-tenant law.
With his help, clients have developed industrial and warehouse projects, pharmaceutical and research facilities, residential subdivisions, apartment complexes and mixed-use projects. He also represents religious institutions in land use litigation in federal court under the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act.
Costa assists clients with industrial property purchases, use variance approvals for warehouses and strategic site zoning conversions, as well as industrial ground leasing, vehicle fleet sales and related commercial and construction loans. Throughout the pandemic, Costa helped several clients resolve lease issues and disputes.
Costa is an associate counsel of the New Jersey Planning Officials, a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Mercer County Bar Association and the Cornell Real Estate Council. Additionally, he’s trained in mediation of complex land use disputes by the Consensus Building Institute.
