The Morristown-based sustainable waste and energy company announced the deal’s completion Tuesday following an initial announcement of intent Aug. 9.

For $45 million, Covanta purchased a subsidiary of Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises Inc., which had been providing operations and maintenance services to two Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County centers.
