Emisphere Technologies Inc. said last week it will move its corporate headquarters and 25 employees from Tarrytown, N.Y., to Cedar Knolls. The biopharmaceutical company said it wants to be closer to drug makers. Emisphere is developing technology that allows drugs to be given orally, through the skin or in other ways that such medicines normally canÂt be given in.
Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. of East Hanover is licensing technology from Emisphere and testing drugs employing the technology for osteoarthritis and osteoporosis in Phase III trials, said Bob Madison, a spokesman with Emisphere.
The company, which has 100 employees, plans to keep its laboratory in Tarrytown. Emisphere plans to finish the move by the first quarter of 2008.
