Cushman & Wakefield’s retail team has been busy.
Led by David Townes, and including Alana Friedman and Neil Seth, the team arranged 19 leases totaling 120,086 square feet, the real estate services firm announced Feb. 10.
The deals – which were all completed in late 2021 or in the new year – cover both restaurant and non-restaurant agreements, and include national outlets like Dunkin Donuts, Chipotle and Planet Fitness.
“We are pleased to have been able to work with such a wide variety of tenants and landlords across New Jersey,” Townes said in a prepared statement. “Retailers have been looking to expand their locations in a range of areas and these leases are evidence of the retail market’s rebound.”
According to Cushman & Wakefield, the team had an active 2021, as well: arranging 60 retail leasing for a cumulative more than 335,429 square feet across the Garden State and greater New York area.
In Jersey City, the team racked up five agreements, representing the landlord in each:
3,100 square feet on behalf of Ondo at 3 2nd St.; Kenny Mandelbaum of KAM Management represented the tenant.
In neighboring Hoboken, the team represented the landlord in an agreement on 4,585 square feet for Sangria Restaurant at 800 Jackson St. Dan Zappala of Ripco Real Estate represented the tenant.
For the remaining restaurant leases, the team represented the landlord in an agreement for 3,027 square feet on behalf of Dunkin Donuts at 200 W. Passaic St. in Rochelle Park, with Sabre representing the tenant. In Montclair and Westfield, Cushman & Wakefield represented both the landlords and tenants for 1,100 square feet for Taqueria Los Gueros at 706 Bloomfield Ave. in the former municipality, and 400 square feet on behalf of Gong Cha at 129 E Broad St. in the latter.
The team secured six spaces with Phenix Salon Suites, including for the brand’s largest location in the country, located in Jersey City.
That lease, at 611 Washington Blvd., covers 17,000 square feet; the team represented the tenant and worked directly with the owner, Simon, in the transaction. The remaining Phenix Salon Suites agreements cover:
In Clifton, Cushman & Wakefield secured 21,000 square feet on behalf of Planet Fitness, representing the tenant, at the Styertowne Shopping Center located at 1051 Bloomfield Ave. in Clifton. Welco Realty’s Welkis represented the landlord.
The team’s remaining work secured 5,700 square feet on behalf of Dogtopia at 2311 Route 206 in Belle Mead. Cushman & Wakefield represented the tenant and Joe Hydro of Jeffery Realty represented the landlord. In Brick, the team represented the tenant and worked directly with owner Federal Realty to arrange 2,200 square feet on behalf of Buff City Soap at Brick Plaza in that shopping center’s namesake city. In Jersey City, Posh Nails signed on for 1,700 square feet at The Agnes, located at 100 Water St., with the team representing the tenant and the landlord.
