A new lease agreement will bring a day care to a space at Montgomery Professional Center that was formerly occupied by a Montessori school.
Larken Associates announced an agreement for 8,000 square feet of space with M&A Square Creative Corner at the complex located at Route 518 and Vreeland Drive in Skillman June 7.
“Montgomery Professional Center’s ideal location within the Princeton area and campus-like setting continues to resonate with clients,” said Rob Marek, executive vice president of Raider Realty, the in-house brokerage division of Larken Associates, in a statement. “We’re proud to own and manage properties that meet the growing and changing needs of today’s businesses to attract high-quality, community-focused tenants like M&A Square Creative Corner.”
Comprised of six buildings and nearly 50,000 square feet of built-to-suit office and medical space, Montgomery Professional Center is situated on 20 acres of professionally landscaped and maintained grounds. The property offers private entrances, bathrooms, kitchenettes and separate utilities for each suite.
According to Larken, the tenant was in search of a location offering space nearby to a sizeable population with the need for child care options.
Though reports indicate that more of such options are necessary for the state to regain its economic footing following the worst of COVID-19, centers have still not regained their losses, as women, in particular, have left the workforce to care for children since the onset of the pandemic. According to state data, from 2019 to 2020, the number of center-based child care providers dropped by more than 1,000. In 2021, most of those losses did appear to recover; however, home-base centers have yet to show the same resilience, and are still off from their 2019 status by 1,111.
