We’ve all been there: You’re at the dentist or eye doctor, and you’re sorting through your stack of insurance cards, searching for the appropriate provider.
Delta Dental of New Jersey’s new partnership aims to eliminate that hassle. According to a Nov. 8 announcement, the New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance recently approved the company’s application to also offer vision coverage.
To accomplish this, the Parsippany-based benefits company said it is teaming up with the not-for-profit VSP Vision Care to form a one-stop shop for group vision and health benefits.
The new offering, called DeltaVision, is available starting Jan. 1, 2023. VSP will administer the fully insured plans, which will be sold in conjunction with DDNJ dental plans to businesses with at least two employees, according to Delta Dental.

“We are incredibly proud to enhance our coverage options to include dental and vision benefits,” Dennis Wilson, president and CEO of Delta Dental of New Jersey and Connecticut, said in a statement. “Dentists and optometrists are trained to detect numerous health conditions by observing early warning signs in the mouth and eyes. We hope this offering will lead to earlier intervention and better overall health for our customers.”
Businesses will be able to package both dental and vision benefits and include the option to purchase glasses and contacts in the same calendar year. According to the company, DeltaVision will be offered to individual customers later in 2023.
Delta Dental said the new plan offers customers the largest network of participating eye doctors nationwide. Benefits include low member out-of-pocket costs; up to 40% off retail prices on lens enhancements after a copay; discounts on LASIK; additional pairs of glasses and more.
Additional coverage is also available for members with conditions such as diabetic eye disease, glaucoma or age-related macular degeneration.
DeltaVision was first launched in Connecticut in 2021.
