Digital native retailer allbirds will open a store in Paramus. – ALLBIRDS
Digital native and sustainably focused shoe and apparel retailer Allbirds opened its first New Jersey store at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus on Oct. 29.
The 3,140-square-foot store highlights products made of natural materials such as merino wool and sugarcane, rather than petroleum-based synthetic fibers. Information on the carbon footprint of each product is on display for customers.
The store includes a handful of subtle New Jersey-themed products, including reusable Allbirds New Jersey tote bags, a pin inspired by the Jersey Shore boardwalk, and Jersey Shore-themed shoe laces.
Allbirds started selling apparel online in 2014 and broke into brick-and-mortar in 2017 in San Francisco. At the time, digital native brands like Allbirds and Warby Parker were just dipping their toes into the physical retail space. The trend was slowed by the pandemic, but continues.
The new store is open Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
