Asian Food Markets will move its Plainsboro location to a bigger store, set to open in the next several months.
The chain signed a lease for a 43,152-square-foot anchor space in Plainsboro Plaza Shopping Center. The store currently occupies a space in Princeton Meadows Shopping Center, where it’s been for 15 years.
Asian Food Markets was founded in Edison in 1992 and has since expanded to Jersey City, North Plainfield, Piscataway, Marlboro, and Plainsboro. The chain is seeking additional sites in northern New Jersey and New York City in areas with a high eastern and central Asian population.
Pete Nicholson of R.J. Brunelli & Co. LLC, based in Old Bridge, is the exclusive leasing representative for the chain in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.
