The agreement was signed with Tempe, Ariz.-based Syntax-Brillian.The Advantage Group (TAG), a consumer-electronics distribution firm based in Edison, has signed an agreement with Syntax-Brillian (NASDAQ: BRLC) of Tempe, Ariz., to nationally distribute the latterÂs rear-projection, high-definition televisions. TAGÂs network covers custom installers, system integrators and installing retailers.
Syntax-BrillianÂs HDTVs are based on its proprietary liquid-crystal-on-silicon (LCOS) technology. The HDTV monitors feature a three- or six-mega pixel light engine and are claimed to offer the highest commercially available contrast ratio in a rear-projection HDTV. Syntax-Brillian claims the product also offers exceptional grayscale performance, deep black levels, high brightness and a 170-degree viewing angle.
TAG will this month begin distributing the HDTVs through its 10 distribution centers across the U.S., to its network of nine member distributor companies who represent more than 8,000 custom installers, system integrators and installing retailers. Syntax Brillian shares were unchanged at $4.45 this afternoon.
