Products from several New Jersey-based companies landed spots in the 2022 Product of the Year Awards from Product of the Year USA, a yearly consumer-voted award program for product innovation.

Eight of the 40 winning products have ties to New Jersey.

Church & Dwight’s OxiClean Daily Clean Multi-Purpose Disinfectant nabbed the recognition, as did Reckitt’s LYSOL Biodegradable Disinfecting Wipes.

Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health’s Listerine Smart Rinse Kids Anticavity Mouthwash and Tylenol Dissolve Packs were both recognized, as were Sanofi US’ Allegra Hives allergy medication and Gold Bond Crepe Corrector Age Defense Lotion.

Ferrero USA’s Kinder Bueno Mini won the recognition in the candy bar category, and Ferrero subsidiary Ferrera won recognition in the sugar confections category for its Nerds Gummy Clusters.

“Given the continued flux and uncertainty over the past two years, we’re prouder than ever to provide consumers with the vote of 40,000 fellow shoppers as a guide they can trust when making important purchase decisions for themselves and their families,” said Mike Nolan, global CEO of Product of the Year Management. “One of the great strengths of Product of the Year is that we champion manufacturers for putting forward products that reflect the latest trends and offer consumers the solutions they’re looking for.”

Ferrera General Manager of Sugar Greg Guidotti said the company is honored by the recognition and “look[s] forward to continuing to push industry boundaries with NERDS and bringing our loyal fans new and exciting innovations along the way.”

Product of the Year is the largest consumer-voted award for product innovation and has happened yearly for more than three decades. Product of the Year winners are determined by the votes of 40,000 consumers in an independent, national representative study conducted by Kantar, a consumer research company.
